About the Kids On Mission Video Series
Kids On Mission is a video series designed specifically for ages 5-12. Each video takes kids to exotic locations and provides them with cultural and historical information. Most importantly, it shows them all the ways that God is working and how they can be Kids On Mission.

Two new volumes are released each year. Each volume features 10 to 15 minute episodes and includes a Scripture-based Factoid Check quiz book and Viewer’s Companion for leaders.

You can also view many KOM episodes right on this site. Just select the continent you want to visit, and then select an episode from the list. You can read the script from the episode and watch parts of the video online. As we create new KOM volumes, we’ll be adding them to this site, so be sure to come back for more adventures with Mr. Christopher, Penny and Surfer Bob!

Mr. Christopher
Mr. Christopher gets his name from the famous explorer Christopher Columbus. Just like Columbus, Mr. Christopher is an explorer at heart. Mr. C, as he is commonly called on the show, loves looking through his charts, maps and books in order to get a good look at the geography of the many places he researches. He does research on countries and people groups to see how God is working in those countries and among those people groups. His main passion is to see how God is working through Southern Baptist international missionaries to reach the lost people of our world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is somewhat old-fashioned, and relies more on books and globes than technology. But, he is not afraid of technology and often accesses information through his least preferred tool, the computer. Mr. Christopher works closely with his assistant, Penny.

Penny
Penny is Mr. Christopher's assistant. This young woman is a hard worker and is very eager and passionate about her work. Penny's name was taken from the word "Pentium," because computers and technology are very important to her. She is very good with the computer and uses it to dig up the information and facts that Mr. C needs to complete a research project. She is also excited about international missions and wants to help young people understand the many issues related to international missions. Penny gets a lot of help from her friend Surfer Bob.

Surfer Bob
Surfer Bob is a zany, wacky character who lives inside cyberspace and surfs, literally, on the Internet. As a Texas cowboy he likes to wear his cowboy boots and 10-gallon hat while he is out "riding Web waves" on his surfboard. Surfer Bob is responsible for rounding up the video features and other elements that are part of a Kids On Mission show. He also has a key role as the character that provides comic relief for KOM. He is always dressing up in local costumes and doing crazy things, and sometimes his playful behavior gets him in trouble. But, Surfer Bob's heart is in the right place and he has a strong passion for telling the stories of Southern Baptists who serve on the international mission field.

Accountant Bill
Accountant Bill is Surfer Bob's brother. He is a very brainy, book-smart guy who loves numbers and technical information. He is shy and his personality is the opposite of Surfer Bob's. Sometimes he gets frustrated with Surfer Bob and his crazy, know-it-all nature. He has a bit of a stutter, but it doesn’t keep him from making his point. "AB" or "Billy-boy," as Surfer Bob calls him, has a real heart for missions and helps out with a lot of the facts needed in the team's research.
