The Silk Road
The Silk Road, which defines the area known as Central Asia, isn't the smoothest path for Christianity. Southern Baptists, though, are working to redirect the flow of belief. This episode of Kids On Mission will provide useful information about the city of Istanbul in Turkey and Central Asia. Kids will learn about the historic significance of the city and the role that Islam plays in this region, both past and present. They will see that a gospel witness to Muslims in the region is the most important thing that these people, without hope, need.

GeoLocator:

Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey. Turkey is bordered by the Black Sea to the north, the Republic of Georgia, Armenia and Naxcivan to the northeast, and the country of Iran to the east. Iraq, Syria and the Mediterranean Sea border Turkey to the south. To the west is the Aegean Sea and to the northwest are the countries of Greece and Bulgaria. A strait called the Bosphorus, which comes from a Turkish word meaning "within the throat," divides Istanbul. the Bosphorus connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara and is a natural boundary between eastern and western civilization.
